Celebrating the Peace Within

The Learning by Heart, Liberty Village Co-housing group of 20 created an accordion book to send to their exchange group, Sojourners, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
“Greetings Sojourners and Katherine,
“Looking forward to sharing our process and project with you.
“I am grateful to all our participants and especially to those who documented it. Our theme this year is Celebrating the Peace Within. Each of the 20 of us created what that means to us.
“I was inspired to make the templates from a picture I saw in a craft magazine. On March 16th the templates were given out to most of our group at our ‘create’ day. I supplied most of the materials from my art facilitation stash. The youngest in our group is 7 the oldest is 87. The children spontaneously created their peace persons and were the first to finish. I continue to be amazed by their representations and abilities. All but the 5 peace persons from those that could not be present were completed that day. The others were submitted shortly thereafter.
"Our group is composed of the residents of Liberty Village Cohousing and long time friends of mine who are associated with my Learning by Heart and Elephas Studios Collectives. Several have been a part of my other Global Art Project for Peace submissions.
“I strongly believe that all of us are artists in one way or another. This project is a testament to that belief.
“I am grateful to you, Katherine, for creating the Global Art Project and very glad to be connected to the Sojourners group.”
