Origami Cranes
Springview Elementary School Students, Miami, Florida, USA

"Our peace project focused on the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. The importance and meaning beyond just making paper cranes was very much grasped by all the children that were making the cranes.
It was such a joy to receive the projects from our partners. My students were very excited when the packages arrived and the projects are all up for permanent display in our media center. My students felt the expression of love coming through these projects and I know it is an experience that they will never forget…both in giving and receiving.
I have enclosed some pictures of my students working on their cranes and some of the final projects. I feel these pictures give a sense of how much my students loved the process and inspired them to look at the world beyond what they know.
Thank you for giving my students and I the opportunity to engage in such a thought provoking, loving and joyous experience."
